Month 6 - Hindu Traditions - Tradition

Guru

The teacher who helps remove darkness.

Reading

In Indian tradition, a guru is a teacher or guide who helps students learn, grow, and see more clearly. The word is often explained as one who removes darkness through knowledge.

Children have many teachers: parents, school teachers, music teachers, coaches, elders, and spiritual guides. Respect for teachers is also respect for learning itself.

The leadership lesson is gratitude. A good student listens, practices, asks questions, and honors those who guide them.
